A sexual assault lawsuit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been dismissed by a New York judge after the accuser chose not to reveal her identity.

The case, originally filed in October 2023, accused the music mogul of attempting to assault a woman at a New York City party in 1995. According to legal documents, the unidentified woman also claimed Combs hit her when she rejected his advances.

Why Was the Lawsuit Dismissed?

Earlier this year, the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, requested that she be allowed to remain anonymous. However, the court denied the request, stating that the “seriousness of the charges” required transparency. The judge gave her until March 20 to file a new complaint under her real name.

When the deadline passed, and she chose not to move forward, the judge officially droped the case on March 31.

Accuser Cites Fear as Reason for Dropping Case

Buzbee later explained that his client ultimately decided against pursuing legal action due to concerns about privacy and public exposure.

“These cases are incredibly difficult for survivors. Many victims fear re-traumatization and the intense media attention,” Buzbee told Variety. “In this particular case, she chose not to proceed, and we have to respect that.”

More Lawsuits Still Pending

While this lawsuit has been dismissed, Diddy is still facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. Over the past year, several women have filed lawsuits against him, accusing him of sexual assault and abuse. Combs has denied all allegations.

The dismissal of this case does not affect the ongoing legal battles he still faces.
